Paris is more than a place—it’s a feeling, a whisper of history, a patina of time worn into its architecture, art, and forgotten treasures. Fleur de Paris is a love letter to that essence, layering the textures of the past with the vibrance of discovery.
At the heart of this composition lies a raised canvas, its rich olive-green and deep teal hues aged with metallic accents that highlight the intricate stenciled patterns. Timeworn details emerge as glimpses of antique maps and fragile documents peek through the worn textures. A crackled print encased in resin perches atop a backdrop of distressed corrugate, lending an air of salvaged history.
Anchoring the lower right, an ornate brass fleur de lys, adorned with an antique earring found in a Parisian flea market, brings an element of regal nostalgia. The upcycled clothing pattern pieces layered beneath speak to the artistry of preservation—where old paper, fabric, and history are bound together in a quiet reverence for the past.
Beneath it all, an encaustic collage of Parisian ephemera—vintage postcards, aged maps, Metro signage, and delicate stenciling—creates a rich, atmospheric base that captures the romance of a city steeped in beauty. The entire composition is framed in a metallic bronze wood cradle, its warm glow elevating the piece to an heirloom of memory and place.

Special Care for Encaustic Artwork... Encaustic artwork is created with a combination of beeswax (note for those who are allergic) and damar resin. This art form has existed for centuries, but because of the natural properties of the wax it does require to be displayed out of direct sunlight in a temperature controlled environment.
